Surah Al-Qasas Ayat 35 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

97. This tells us that you are not forbidden to strive to offer prayer of obtaining prophethood and caliphate for your children and relatives. Thus those pious persons who nominate the children as their successors are not sinner as is the case with Hazrat Muawiya. as well as the Saints and Kings in general.

98. Awe and fear in the hearts of the believers or kingdom and Caliphate with prophethood.

99. This means that they would not be able to cause any harm to you due to this walking stick and the shining hand. This tells us that keeping resources with you is not against the concept of trust in Allah Almighty.

100. That you will overpower the Pharaoh.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Qasas verse 35 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Qasas ayat 33 which provides the complete commentary from verse 33 through 35.

Ala-Maududi

(28:35) He said: “We will certainly strengthen you through your brother and will invest both of you with such power that they shall not be able to hurt you. With the help of Our Signs the two of you and your followers will prevail.”[48]

48. This meeting of the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) with Allah and the mutual conversation has been described in much greater detail in (Surah TaHa, Ayat 9-48). Anyone who compares this Quranic version with the story given in the Bible will himself be able to judge which of the two is a divine revelation and which one is the result of human story telling. Besides, he will also be able to judge whether the Quranic version is, God forbid, a plagiarism of the Bible and Israelite traditions, or that God Himself is describing the actual event, Who had honored Moses (peace be upon him) by calling him up into His Presence. See (Surah TaHa, ayat 48) note 19.
