📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Qasas – Verse 88

And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no god except Him [219]; everything is perishable except His being. His is the Command [220], and to Him you will be returned [221].

✅ [219] Clear Prohibition of Shirk

This verse serves as a comprehensive explanation of all earlier prohibitions regarding associating partners with Allah.
It emphasizes that the prohibition is not only on calling someone a deity, but also on calling upon anyone as if they hold divine power
true divinity belongs to Allah alone.

✅ [220] The Eternity of Allah’s Essence

Everything—every created being, system, or existence—is perishable. Only Allah’s Being (Zaat) is eternal.
Even those who lose themselves in divine love, though not subject to ordinary death, do not share in Allah’s eternity; their survival is granted by Allah’s will, not by intrinsic immortality.

✅ [221] Ultimate Return to Allah’s Authority

All power, governance, and command belongs to Allah alone.
Even the actions of angels, prophets, and saints operate only with His permission.
Worldly kings and authorities are rulers in a metaphorical or delegated sense, but absolute command rests with Allah.

You may run wherever you want, but ultimately you must return to your Lord.
The believers turn to Allah in this world; the rest will be returned forcefully in the Hereafter.

112. Another meaning can be: “Sovereignty is for Him, for He alone is entitled to it by right.”
