Transliteration:( Wa atba'naahum fee haazihid dunyaa la'natanw wa Yawmal Qiyaamati hum minal maqbooheen (section 4) )
"And We placed a curse upon them in this world, [113] and on the Day of Resurrection, they will be among those rejected. [114]"
This implies that bad publicity or notoriety in the world is a curse from Allah Almighty, while good fame and honour is a sign of His mercy.
As seen with the Prophets, saints, and the righteous, their respected reputation is a divine blessing. In contrast, the disgrace and infamy of the devil is a divine curse—even disbelievers recognize the shame attached to being likened to Satan. If someone is called a "devil," it is universally perceived as an insult, regardless of belief.
Thus, being remembered for evil is part of Allah’s punishment, while being remembered with honour is a sign of His favour.
By "those rejected," it is meant that on the Day of Judgement, all beneficial things will be kept far away from the disbelievers, and all forms of evil and punishment will be brought near to them.
On the contrary, by the grace of Allah Almighty, the believers will be brought close to all that is good—reward, mercy, nearness to Allah—and kept far from harm.

(28:42) We have made a curse to pursue them in this world, and on the Day of Judgement they shall be among the despised.[58]
58. The words in the text mean: “On the Day of Resurrection they will be among the maqbuhin”, which has several meanings: (l) They will stand rejected and repulsed; (2) they will be wholly deprived of Allah’s mercy; and (3) they will be severely beaten up and their faces will become distorted.
[1106]- Literally, "those made hideous," who will be far removed from all good and mercy.
