πŸ“– Commentary of Surah Al-Qasas – Verse 41

"And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire, [112] and on the Day of Resurrection, they will not be helped."

βœ… [112] Misguided Leadership and its Consequences

From this we understand that on the Day of Judgement, the leaders of the infidels and the believers will each lead their respective followers—into Hell and into Paradise.

Says Allah Almighty:
“The Day when We shall call every people with their leaders” (Surah Al-Isra, 17:71).

This also teaches us that on the Day of Judgement, help and support will be granted to the believers, but no assistance will be provided to the disbelievers.

Their so-called leadership, which once commanded worldly power and influence, will be of no value in the Hereafter. Instead, they will be remembered as those who invited others to destruction, and they themselves will face the eternal consequences of their misguidance.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Qasas verse 41 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Qasas ayat 38 which provides the complete commentary from verse 38 through 42.

(28:41) And We made them leaders who invite people to the Fire.[57] On the Day of Judgement they shall not find help from any quarter.

Ala-Maududi

(28:41) And We made them leaders who invite people to the Fire.[57] On the Day of Judgement they shall not find help from any quarter.

57. That is, β€œThey have set a precedent for the later generations as to committing injustices, rejecting the truth and persistence in their rejection till the last, and using all sorts of devices to defend falsehood against the truth.” They showed these ways to the people and have gone to Hell, and now their descendants are following in their footsteps and rushing towards the same doom.

(41) And We made them leaders[1105] inviting to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not be helped.

[1105]- i.e., examples or precedents, followed by subsequent tyrants.
