Transliteration:( Wa qeelad 'oo shurakaaa'akum fada'awhum falam yastajeeboo lahum wa ra awul 'azaab; law annahum kaanoo yahtadoon )
"And it will be said, 'Call your partners [164].' So they will call them, but they will not answer them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had been guided!"
On the Day of Judgment, the disbelievers will be told:
"Call upon your partners!"—that is, those whom they wrongly believed could help them besides Allah.
They will call out to their idols, such as the sun, moon, stars, trees, stones, or man-made figures falsely given divine status—but none will respond.
This clarifies a critical point:
Merely calling upon someone for help is not shirk (polytheism) in itself—otherwise Allah would not use the phrase “Call upon your helpers other than Allah” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:23).
Shirk is to worship someone besides Allah, not to seek help in permissible ways.
This verse refers only to idols and false deities, not to the Prophets or saints.
Some groups wrongly interpret this verse to include Awliya (friends of Allah) or Prophets, but this is a clear misapplication.
As stated, this verse concerns the idols that were worshipped by polytheists, not respected or righteous personalities revered for their piety.

(28:64) They will then be told: “Call upon those for help whom you declared to be Our associates.”[89] They will then call upon them but they will not answer them. They will have observed the chastisement in front of them. Would that they were guided!
89. That is, “Invoke them for help. In the world you had relied on them and rejected Our commandments. So invoke them to come to your rescue here also and save you from the punishment.”
