Transliteration:( Fa asaabahum saiyi aatu maa kasaboo; wallazeena zalamoo min haaa'ulaaa'i sa yuseebuhum saiyi aatu maa kasaboo wa maa hum bimu'jizeen )
"So, the evil (consequences) of their earnings overtook [128] them. And those who are unjust among [129] them, too, should be overtaken by the evils of their earnings, and they cannot escape it."
The wealth of disbelievers often becomes a means to sin, opening doors to arrogance, immorality, and heedlessness. Eventually, it leads them to ruin and destruction.
In contrast, the wealth of believers opens the doors of worship and charity. The difference lies in how one uses what is given—with or without faith.
The "unjust among them" refers to the disbelievers of Makkah during the time of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. This verse serves as a warning that the same fate awaits them—the evil consequences of their deeds will overtake them, and they will not find escape from Allah’s justice.
