Transliteration:( Wa aneebooo ilaa Rabbikum wa aslimoo lahoo min qabli any yaatiyakumul 'azaabu summa laa tunsaroon )
"And turn [137] towards your Lord and submit [138] yourselves to Him; before there comes to you the punishment, and then you shall not be helped (139)."
"Turn towards your Lord" means to repent sincerely.
The disbeliever should repent by accepting Islam.
The sinner should repent with regret and remorse over past transgressions.
The righteous should also turn to Allah, thinking, "My worship is not worthy of His Majesty."
In short, everyone—regardless of their spiritual state—should constantly turn to Allah in repentance and humility.
To submit to your Lord means to obey Him with sincerity, giving up all forms of rebellion, pride, and heedlessness, and living a life of full surrender to His will.
The punishment mentioned here can refer to:
Worldly punishment,
Torment in the grave,
Or the punishment of the Hereafter.
Once it descends, no one will be able to help, and no support or intercession will avail the one who ignored repentance when it was still possible.
