Transliteration:( Balaa qad jaaa'atka aayaatee fa kazzabta bihaa wa stakbarta wa kunta minal kaafireen )
"Yes, why not? Surely My Signs [146] came to you, but you falsified them and became boastful and you were among the infidels [147]."
Allah responds with "Yes, why not?", affirming that guidance had indeed reached them through clear signs, i.e., the verses of the Qur’an, the truth of the Prophet ﷺ, and the miracles shown.
There was no shortage of guidance, only a rejection of it.
Their denial was not due to ignorance but due to arrogance and pride.
They rejected the truth, mocked it, and were deliberately stubborn, placing themselves among the disbelievers.
This verse silences all excuses on the Day of Judgment—making it clear that they chose denial despite receiving the truth.
