Transliteration:( Law aradnaaa an nattakhiza lahwal lat takhaznaahu mil ladunnaaa in kunnaa faa'ileen )
"If We had wished to take any amusement, then We would have taken it from Ourselves [26]; if at all We were to do."
This verse is a strong rejection of the false belief that Allah has an offspring, as claimed by some Jews and Christians.
Allah declares that if He ever intended to take a partner or child (which is impossible for Him), it would be from within His own domain, not from creation.
The reasoning is simple: If Allah had a child, that child would reside with Him, not among humans—why would such a being stay with you?
This exposes the absurdity and baselessness of attributing human traits to Allah, who is entirely free from all such needs.
The tafsir of Surah Anbiya verse 17 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Anbiya ayat 16 which provides the complete commentary from verse 16 through 20.
(21:17) Had it been Our will to find a pastime, We would have found one near at hand; if at all We were inclined to do so.[16]
16. That is, this world has been created with a definite purpose and not as a plaything. For, if We had wanted to enjoy a sport, We would have done so without creating a sentient, rational and responsible creature like you. Far be it from Us to put man to trial and conflict for the sake of mere fun.
