Quran Quote  :

Quran-26:154 Surah Ash-shuara English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُنَا فَأۡتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

Transliteration:( Maaa anta illaa basharum mislunaa faati bi Aayatin in kunta minas saadiqeen )

154. You are indeed a man like us, (153) therefore bring any sign, if you are truthful. (154)

Surah Ash-Shuara Ayat 154 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

153. This tells us that to call a Prophet a human being for the purpose of equality is an act of infidelity because this was one of the things Allah Almighty has stated among the heretical statements.
It should be remembered that the word BASHR (human being) in respect of the Prophet has either been used by Allah Almighty, the Prophet himself, or the infidels. Thus, the one who now calls him a human being is certainly not Allah Almighty, nor a prophet, so he must be an infidel.

154. This means to show us such a miracle which would reveal that you are a true Prophet.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Ash-Shura verse 154 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Shura ayat 153 which provides the complete commentary from verse 153 through 159.

(26:154) you are no different from a mortal like us. So produce a sign if you are truthful.”[102]

102. That is, we cannot believe you to be a Messenger from God because you are just like us and we see no distinction in you. However, if you are true in your claim that God has appointed you as His Messenger, you should present such a clear miracle as should make us believe that you have really been sent by the Creator and Master of the universe.
