Transliteration:( Qaala abashshartumoonee 'alaaa am massaniyal kibaru fabima tubashshiroon )
"He said, 'What! Do you give me glad tidings although old age has come upon me? So on what basis do you give glad tidings?' [63]."
This means: would we, husband and wife, be made young again? Or would we remain in our old age and still be granted a son?
This question was not a rejection of Allah’s power. Rather, it was a natural expression of wonder at such glad tidings in old age. It reflects the amazement of Hazrat Ebrahim (عليه السلام) at the miraculous nature of the news — not doubt in the power of Allah.
