Transliteration:( Illaaa Aala Loot; innaa lamunajjoohum ajma'een )
"Except the family of Lut [68]; We will surely save them all. [69]"
This informs us that the word “Aal” (family) includes wife, children, and even followers. In this context, it refers to all those who believed in Hazrat Lut (عليه السلام).
Their faith granted them salvation, and thus they were counted as part of his family, showing the spiritual as well as biological dimension of the term.
From this we learn that the deeds of Allah Almighty can be linked with His devoted servants.
While granting salvation is the work of Allah, here the angels say, “We will save them,” meaning they act by Allah’s command.
Therefore, it is permissible for a believer to say:
“The Holy Prophet ﷺ will save us from punishment,”
or
“O Messenger of Allah, save us,”
with the understanding that it is by Allah’s permission and authority.
