Transliteration:( Qaaloo bashsharnaaka bilhaqqi falaa takum minal qaaniteen )
"They said, 'We have given you glad tidings with truth, so do not be among those who despair.' [64]"
This means that both of you will remain as old as you are when you are blessed with the son.
This verse does not imply that Hazrat Ebrahim (عليه السلام) had lost hope in the mercy of Allah Almighty. Rather, it was a gentle reassurance, not a rebuke.
It is similar to the way Hazrat Luqman (عليه السلام) advised his son:
"Oh my son, do not commit polytheism."
This advice does not imply that his son was actually committing shirk at that time—it was a precautionary and instructive reminder.
