Transliteration:( Wa qadainaaa ilaihi zaalikal amra anna daabira haaa'ulaaa'i maqtoo'um musbiheen )
"And We had decreed to him that the end of these people would be cut off by morning [77]."
By "root shall be cut off" is meant that not a single descendant of the disbelievers would remain—no survivor to continue their lineage or perpetuate their generation.
This illustrates the total and final nature of Divine punishment upon a people after repeated denial and corruption.
It is also important to note that such complete destructions ceased with the arrival of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, whose mercy shields even sinners from sudden annihilation.
