Transliteration:( Wa maa khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaaa illaa bilhaqq; wa innas Saa'ata la aatiyatun fasfahis safhal jameel )
And We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them except with truth [97]. And indeed, the Hour is coming [98], so forgive with gracious forgiveness [99].
✅ [97] Divine Wisdom in All Creation
This verse highlights that the entire universe — the heavens, the earth, and all that lies between — has been created with a just and purposeful order.
Even things that seem evil, like infidelity or Shaitaan, have a role in the Divine plan. Though their actions are wicked, their creation is not without wisdom. Every element, good or bad, contributes to the unfolding of Allah’s greater design.
✅ [98] Reality of the Day of Judgement
This signals that the final reckoning, the Hour, is surely coming. While some punishments are meted out in this world, true justice will be fully established on the Day of Judgement.
The worldly destruction of past nations was not the end — their complete recompense is still to come.
✅ [99] Gracious Forgiveness Over Vengeance
The Prophet ﷺ is commanded to forgive with dignity and grace. Despite the oppression and cruelty of the disbelievers, he is instructed to remain patient and avoid personal revenge.
However, this verse was later abrogated by the commands related to jihad, where justice and retribution became required in certain circumstances.
(15:85) We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth.[47] Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds).
47. This was to reassure the Prophet (peace be upon him) that ultimately he would come out successful because he was propagating the truth, and the entire universe was based on truth. Such an assurance was urgently needed because at that time falsehood appeared to be triumphant over the truth. This implies: O Prophet, do not worry at all at the apparent success of falsehood for this is temporary. Likewise the difficulties, the obstacles and the troubles in the way of truth are not permanent. Take courage, and have confidence in the cause of the truth and you will triumph over falsehood because the whole system of the universe is akin to truth and averse to falsehood. Therefore, truth is permanent and falsehood is perishable. Refer to (Surah Ibrahim, ayat 18-19) note 25-26 and (Surah Ibrahim, ayat 24-27) note 35-39.
