So their earnings did not avail them [96].
✅ [96] The Futility of Worldly Power
All their accumulated wealth, mountain-carved homes, and impregnable fortresses were of no use when the Divine punishment descended upon them.
Despite their skills, resources, and sense of invincibility, nothing could shield them from the wrath of Allah. Their destruction occurred on a Sunday morning, as narrated in Tafseer Roohul Bayaan.
In the three days leading to their punishment, Allah showed them visible signs:
Day 1: Faces turned yellow
Day 2: Faces turned red
Day 3: Faces turned black
Day 4: The punishment struck
✅ Prophet Saleh’s (عليه السلام) Safety and Migration
Before the punishment, Prophet Saleh (عليه السلام) and his group of believers left the area and migrated to Palestine, and later to Makkah Mukarramah, where they lived for twenty years until their death.
This verse serves as a powerful reminder that worldly achievements are powerless before Divine decree, and that faith and obedience are the only real means of salvation.
