Transliteration:( Qaaloo bal ji'naaka bimaa kaanoo feehi yamtaroon )
"They said, 'Nay, we have come to you with that of which they were in doubt.' [73]"
This means the Divine punishment with which you warned them, and which they continued to reject, has now arrived.
Here, the word “doubt” is used to indicate rejection, because the people of Hazrat Lut (عليه السلام) were not just doubtful, but outright deniers of the punishment.
Since doubting what a Prophet affirms is equivalent to disbelief, the term "doubt" here signifies complete denial.
