    📖 Commentary of Surah Bani Isra’il – Verse 24

    "And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy [61], and say, 'My Lord, have mercy on them as they brought me up when I was small [62].'"

    ✅ [61] Humility and Compassion in Action

    This means you must practically treat them well, and do not hesitate to spend on them, because when you were helpless, they cared for you.

    Now, when they are helpless, you must take care of them.

    ✅ [62] A Du‘a Rooted in Gratefulness

    From this emerge a few issues:

    1. No person can ever fully repay the rights of their parents.

    Therefore, du‘a for mercy is the least we can offer for their lifelong sacrifices in raising us.
