📖 Commentary of Surah Bani Isra’il – Verse 92

"Or you may cause [190], the heavens to fall upon us in pieces as you have asserted, or bring Allah and the Angels as surety [191]."

✅ [190] A Mockery of the Day of Judgement

“You have said that the heavens will fall at the time of Qiyāmah,” they mocked,

“So why not cause it to fall now, if you are truthful?”

This reflects their stubborn arrogance and denial of the Hereafter. They demanded what they thought was an impossible event, simply to ridicule the truth.

✅ [191] A Demand for Direct Witnesses

They said:

“Bring Allah and the Angels before us as guarantors to prove your Prophethood.”

This was not a sincere request, but a blasphemous challenge. They were saying, “Who can testify about you in our presence?” — as if Allah and His angels needed their approval.

These demands highlight the extreme arrogance of the disbelievers. Instead of reflecting on the clear signs and the Qur’an, they kept insisting on sensational miracles, not out of faith, but out of mockery and rejection.
