ٱقۡرَأۡ كِتَٰبَكَ كَفَىٰ بِنَفۡسِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ عَلَيۡكَ حَسِيبٗا

Transliteration:( Iqra kitaabaka kafaa bi nafsikal Yawma 'alaika haseebaa )

14.(It will be said to him), Read [38] your book. Today, you are sufficient to take account of yourself [39]. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

(14) [It will be said], "Read your record. Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as accountant." (Saheen International Translation)

📖 Commentary of Surah Bani Isra’il – Verse 14

"(It will be said to him), Read [38] your book. Today, you are sufficient to take account of yourself [39]."

✅ [38] Universal Literacy and Language on Judgment Day

This tells us that nobody will remain illiterate on the Day of Judgement, and that everyone will be speaking in Arabic, as this command to read will be given to everybody—whether learned or ignorant, and regardless of their worldly language.

✅ [39] Accountability from One’s Own Deeds

Anyone who may be keeping record of his deeds in this world would find it easy to maintain this record in the Hereafter, if Allah Almighty wills!
