Quran-17:52 Surah Al-isra English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Yawma yad'ookum fatastajeeboona bihamdihee wa tazunnoona il labistum illaa qaleela (section 5) )

52. The day when He will call you (113), then you will come (114), praising Him and will think that you tarried not but little (115).

Surah Al-Isra Ayat 52 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

113. By this is meant calling you to the place of reckoning by means of sounding the trumpet. From this we learn that the activities of certian special servants of Allah Almighty are indeed the activities of the Almighty because resurrecting the people, summoning them to the plains of Reckoning, blowing the Trumpet, are all assigned to Hazrat Israfeel (On whom be peace). Yet, Allah Almighty is saying He would be summoning the people. In a like manner He refers to many activities of His servants as His work eg, Hazrat Jibraeel (On whom be peace) had told Bibi Mariam, "I would grant a son to you".

114. This tells us that all worships will come to an end in the Hereafter, but the act of praising Allah Almighty would continue there as well. However, this offering of praise will not be of any inconvenience but one of spiritual just like the respiratory process in this world. But offering praise of Allah Almighty will not benefit the infidels in the Hereafter.

115. In comparison to the life in the Hereafter. because the life of this world and the period of stay in the grave is lesser than that of the Hereafter Or due to the fear of the Day of Judgement their long lives will seem short. Thereafter they will remember their ages and all the incidents during it (Tafseer Roohul Bayaan).

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Al-Isra verse 52 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Isra ayat 49 which provides the complete commentary from verse 49 through 52.

(17:52) on the Day when He will call you and you will rise praising Him in response to His call, and you will believe that you had lain in this state only for a while.”[56]

56. That is, you will feel as if the intervening period between death and coming again to life on the Day of Resurrection was only a few hours or so, for you will think that you had just woken up after a short sleep by the sudden noise produced on the Day. As regards to you will rise up praising Him, it is a subtle hint towards a great reality. At the time of rising up from death, both the believer and the unbeliever will be uttering the praise of Allah. The believer will do so because in the worldly life also he believed in this creed and practiced it. As regards the unbeliever, he will have the urge to do so because of the inherent and ingrained tendency in him which he had been suppressing by his folly. In the new life all those deliberate suppressions will vanish away and he will involuntarily utter the praise of Allah.
