"I saw a woman reigning [49] over them and she has got of everything [50] and she has a great throne. [51]"
The hoopoe (Hudhud) reports that the people of Sheba are ruled by a woman named Bilqis, the daughter of Sharjeel bin Malik Rayyaan. According to Tafsir Roohul Bayaan, she was born to a Jinn mother, though Allah and His Messenger know best. Her leadership is acknowledged respectfully, indicating that her reign was powerful, structured, and significant.
The phrase “she has got of everything” signifies that Queen Bilqis had access to all forms of royal wealth, governance tools, military resources, and civilization luxuries. It was a prosperous and self-sufficient kingdom, which even the knowledgeable hoopoe recognized as complete in worldly terms.
The hoopoe describes her throne as grand and majestic—eighty yards long and forty feet wide, with parts made from gold, silver, and topaz, embedded with precious stones, and adorned with red rubies on its sides. Such detail emphasizes the level of opulence and the elevated status of the queen, setting the stage for a remarkable confrontation between earthly glory and divine truth in the verses to come.
