Transliteration:( Qaaloo nahnu uloo quwwatinw wa uloo baasin shadeed; wal amru ilaiki fanzuree maazaa taamureen )
"They said, 'We are men of great strength and of severe fighting [64], and the authority is yours, therefore, see what you command.' [65]"
The chiefs of Queen Bilqis’ court respond by affirming their military strength and readiness for battle. They declare themselves to be valiant warriors, assuring her that if she chooses war, they are prepared for it. This shows their loyalty and confidence in their capabilities, but also reveals a tendency toward confrontation.
Despite their boldness, the chiefs make it clear that the final decision lies with the queen. They say, “the authority is yours,” meaning they await her command, not merely giving advice but placing the responsibility in her hands.
This verse reflects:
A council loyal to its leader, but perhaps lacking in spiritual foresight, leaning toward warfare over diplomacy.
Bilqis’ awareness (as seen in the following verses) that military might cannot rival prophetic wisdom, showing her clear-headed leadership.
The underlying message that true power is not in brute strength, but in the ability to recognize and submit to divine truth.
