Transliteration:( Laqad wu'idnaa haazaa nahnu wa aabaaa'unaa min qablu in haazaaa illaaa asaateerul awwaleen )
"Indeed, we have been promised this and before us our fathers, this is not but the tales of the ancients [133]."
This means that the previous Prophets had also warned their ancestors about the coming of the Day of Judgement, but since it had not yet occurred, they dismissed it as mere ancient stories.
This attitude reflects the height of ignorance and impatience—like someone demanding that a tree bear fruit on the day it is planted. Every event occurs at its appointed time, and the Day of Judgement too shall come precisely when decreed.
