Quran Quote  : 

Quran-9:96 Surah At-tawbah English Translation,Transliteration and Tafsir(Tafseer).

Transliteration:( Yahlifoona lakum litardaw 'anhum fa in tardaw 'anhum fa innal laaha laa yardaa 'anil qawmil faasiqeen )

96. They swear before you that you may be pleased (265), with them. But if you are pleased with them, then no doubt, Allah will not be pleased with disobedient people (266).

265. From this we learn tht the hypocrite does good deeds merely to please people, while the purpose of the believer is to do everything for the sole pleasure of Allah Almighty. RIYA doing good for show is the sign of hypocrisy of action. 

266. Here Muslims in general are being addressed in your approval of them on the bases of their false oaths is not going to benefit them in any way. Otherwise those with whom is  the Messengerصلى الله عليه وآله وسلم  of Allah pleased, Allah Almighty would most certainly be pleased with them. Says Allah Almighty:

"Then follow me; Allah will love you". (S3:V31) From this we learn if Muslims trust the infidels as result of being deceived they will not be sinners, because here Muslims are not being censured.

 

Ibn-Kathir
