📖 Commentary (Tafsir) of Verse 35 – Surah At-Tawbah

On the day when their treasures will be heated in the fire [87] of Hell, then their foreheads, sides, and backs [88] shall be branded with it. [It will be said:] "This is what you hoarded [89] for yourselves, so taste the penalty of what you were hoarding."

✅ 87. Intense Heating of Treasures

The treasures will be heated in the fire of Hell to such an extent that they will turn white. (KHAZAIN)

✅ 88. Branding of Forehead, Sides, and Backs

The wealthy misers would frown at the poor, then turn away from them, showing their backs. Thus, all three limbs—the forehead, sides, and backs—will be branded.

✅ 89. Nature of Hoarding and Zakat

We learn that wealth hoarded for the sake of Allah Almighty is not regarded as bad. There is no zakat on wealth given in trust, even if it amounts to thousands of rands.
Hoarding for oneself includes accumulating wealth for one’s children, relatives, etc., when this is not intended for gaining the pleasure of Allah Almighty.
