Transliteration:( Qul haazihee sabeeleee ad'ooo ilal laah; 'alaa baseera tin ana wa manit taba'anee wa Subhaanal laahi wa maaa ana minal mushrikeen )
Say, This is my way [223]. I call to Allah with insight [224], I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah, and I am not of those who associate others with Him [225].
By “my way” is meant Islam, the path followed by Prophets and Awliya (Friends of Allah). Any religion opposing this path is not the true religion. Today, all groups except the Ahle Sunnat have deviated and are not on the path of Allah’s friends, making their paths false.
“Those who follow me” refers to the Noble Companions and Saints. Following them is necessary. Allah says: “And follow him who turned to Me with repentance” (S31:V15). Their path ensures true connection to Allah.
Two points emerge:
Prophets were never idolators, not even before their mission. Allah says: “Your companion neither went astray nor misled” (S53:V2).
One must publicly show their faith in speech, action, and appearance. Resembling disbelievers or hiding one's identity is like concealing faith.
108. Say “This is my way; I invite unto Allah with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me. And Glorified and Exalted be Allah. And I am not of the idolators.”
Allah orders His Messenger to say to mankind and the Jinns that this is his way, meaning, his method, path and Sunnah, concentrating on calling to the testimony that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone without partners. The Messenger calls to this testimonial with sure knowledge, certainty and firm evidence. He calls to this way, and those who followed him call to what Allah’s Messenger called to with sure knowledge, certainty and evidence, whether logical or religious evidence,
(And Glorified and Exalted be Allah.) This part of the Ayah means, I glorify, honor, revere and praise Allah from having a partner, equal, rival, parent, son, wife, minister or advisor. All praise and honor be to Allah, glorified He is from all that they attribute to Him,
(The seven heavens and the earth and all that is therein, glorify Him, and there is not a thing but glorifies His praise. But you understand not their glorification. Truly, He is Ever Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving.) ﴿17:44)
(12:108) Tell them plainly: “This is my way: I call you to Allah, on the basis of clear perception – both I and those who follow me. Allah – Glory be to Him – is free of every imperfection.[78] I have nothing to do with those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity.”
78. That is, Allah is absolutely free from such things that are ascribed to Him: He is free from the weaknesses and shortcomings which every believer in shirk ascribes to Him; He is free from all defects, evils and errors that must necessarily be ascribed to Him as a logical result of the conception of God hold by mushriks.
