📖 Commentary of Surah Yusuf – Verse 44

"They said, 'These are confused dreams, and we do not know the interpretation of dreams [100].'"

✅ 100. Types of Dreams

In this verse, the courtiers dismiss the King’s dream as confused and beyond their understanding. This refers to the fact that dreams come in different forms:

  1. Divine dreams: These are from Allah Almighty, and are true and inspired.

  2. Devilish dreams: These come from evil suggestions by Shaitaan.

  3. Dreams from one’s own thoughts: These result from personal reflections or experiences.

  4. Confused dreams: These are from the figments of imagination and are meaningless. In Arabic, these are referred to as AHLAAM—dreams that are a collection of random, meaningless thoughts. They are often chaotic and have no real meaning.
