    📖 Commentary of Surah Yusuf – Verse 95

    They said, "By Allah, you are still in your old delusion [201]."

    ✅ [201] Constant concern mistaken as delusion

    The brothers referred to Hazrat Yaqub’s (علیہ السلام) deep attachment and persistent hope regarding Hazrat Yusuf (علیہ السلام) as “old delusion.” In reality, it was his intense love and prophetic insight. His loss of eyesight was due to excessive weeping, not imagination or senility.

    (12:95) They said: “Surely you are still in your same old craze.”[67]

    67. This remark shows that no member of his family except Prophet Joseph appreciated the true worth of Prophet Jacob. He himself was aware of the low state of their mental and moral condition. And it is one of the ironies of fate that the majority of the great personalities who made history got very little appreciation at home.
