    📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Ma’idah – Verse 118

    "If You punish them, they are Your bondsmen [323], and if You forgive them, then surely You are the Mighty, the Wise [324].'"

    ✅ Allah Has Complete Authority Over His Creation [323]

    Isa (AS) expresses complete submission to Allah’s will by saying: “They are Your bondsmen.” This acknowledges that Allah has every right to punish them for their wrongs. No one can object to His decision, as He is the Master, and they are His slaves. Moreover, Allah’s punishment is never excessive, but always just and deserved.

    ✅ No Intercession for Disbelievers Without Faith [324]

    This verse implies that intercession for disbelievers is not allowed. Isa (AS) does not explicitly ask for their forgiveness, but leaves the matter to Allah's wisdom. This shows that faith and truthfulness are the only paths to salvation. Even Prophets do not intercede for those who persist in disbelief, affirming that divine justice prevails.
