Transliteration:( Innal lazeena aamanoo wallazeena haadoo was saabi'oona wan Nasaaraa man aamana billaahi wal yawmil Aakhiri wa 'amila saalihan falaa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon )
69. Surely, those who believe [208], and similarly the Yahud, the Sabians (star worshippers), and the Nasara—whoever among them believes in Allah and the Last Day [209], with a true heart and acts righteously, shall neither have any fear nor shall they grieve [210].
This verse distinguishes between nominal believers—those who only recite the Kalima and identify as Muslims by nationality or community—and true believers with genuine faith in their hearts. It indicates that some groups who claim Islam (e.g., Qadiyanis, Chakralwics) are not true believers but only nominal followers. True faith requires heartfelt conviction, not just outward affiliation.
The verse acknowledges that among the People of the Book (Yahud/Jews and Nasara/Christians) and the Sabians (star worshippers), some may truly believe in Allah and the Last Day with sincere faith. Mere membership in these communities does not guarantee faith, but sincere belief is recognized regardless of community.
Those who believe sincerely and act righteously have no cause for fear or grief. The verse links the fear of Allah (taqwa) as the spiritual cause for achieving true peace and confidence in this world and the hereafter. Such believers are considered saints with elevated spiritual status.
