Transliteration:( Fatawwa'at lahoo nafsu hoo qatla akheehi faqatalahoo fa asbaha minal khaasireen )
And his soul induced him to kill his brother. So he killed him [104] and became among the losers [105].
This refers to Qabeel placing the head of Habeel on one stone and crushing it with another, a method that was taught to him by the devil. This murder is believed to have taken place either in Makkah or Basrah, at which time Habeel was about twenty years old.
From this tragic event, several important issues arise:
The crime committed by man was murder, marking the very first act of bloodshed among humans.
Envy is a terrible vice; it was envy that led to the downfall of the devil himself, demonstrating its destructive power.
The very first mischief in the world was over a woman. Woman is often cited as a root cause of rebellion and mischief. The three primary causes of mischief in the world are woman, riches, and estate.
