    يُرِيدُونَ أَن يَخۡرُجُواْ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ وَمَا هُم بِخَٰرِجِينَ مِنۡهَاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مُّقِيمٞ

    Transliteration:( Yureedoona ai yakhrujoo minan Naari wa maa hum bikhaari jeena minhaa wa lahum 'azaabum muqeem )

    📖 Commentary (Tafsir) of Verse 37 – Surah Al-Ma’idah

    They will wish to get out of the Fire, but they will not be able to come out of it. For them, it is everlasting punishment [121].

    ✅ Eternal Punishment for the Disbelievers [121]

    • This verse highlights the permanent and unending nature of the punishment in Hell for those who reject faith. The disbelievers will desire to escape the torment but will find no relief or escape.

    • The intensity and duration of Hell’s punishment remain constant and do not diminish for the disbelievers. This is a special fate reserved for them as a result of their disbelief.

    • In contrast, the believers who face punishment will not remain eternally in Hell, and their punishment will be less severe or temporary. Some souls may even be taken out of their bodies during punishment and restored afterward.

    • There are gradations in the severity of punishment among disbelievers. For example:

      • Abu Talib, uncle of the Prophet ﷺ, is given light punishment.

      • Abu Lahab’s punishment lessens every Monday, showing that even among the disbelievers, the punishment can vary.
