Transliteration:( Wa taraa kaseeram minhum yusaari'oona fil ismi wal'udwaani wa aklihimus suht; labi'sa maa kaanoo ya'maloon )
“And you will see many of them hastening towards sin and transgression [187], and consuming what is forbidden. Indeed, what they are doing is evil.”
This verse highlights the behavior of some among the People of the Book, particularly the Jews, who hastily engage in sinful acts and transgressions. Specifically:
Sin refers to their concealment of verses from the Torah that praised the Holy Prophet ﷺ, deliberately hiding the truth.
Transgression points to their alterations and additions to the Torah, deviating from its original teachings.
Consuming what is forbidden symbolizes their acceptance of bribes and unlawful gains, which they used to manipulate religious laws for personal or group advantage.
This verse condemns these actions as clearly evil and unjust, underscoring the moral corruption involved.
