Transliteration:( Laisa 'alal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati junaahun feemaa ta'imooo izaa mat taqaw wa aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati summat taqaw wa aamanoo summat taqaw wa ahsanoo; wallaahu yuhibbul muhsineen )
"There is no blame on those who believe and do good deeds for what they eat when they fear [256] and believe [257] and do good deeds. And again fear and keep faith, then again fear and do good. And Allah loves the good-doers."
This verse teaches that no sin is recorded for actions committed before divine rulings were revealed. For example, those pious believers who consumed alcohol before its prohibition were not sinful. However, Tawheed (belief in the Oneness of Allah) remains an obligation upon all, as every created thing testifies to His Unity, even if the detailed laws had not yet reached them.
The word Taqwa (piety) appears three times in this verse, each with a specific meaning:
Refraining from false beliefs
Avoiding alcohol and gambling
Abstaining from all forms of sin
This layered piety reflects progressive spiritual growth that leads to the love of Allah, who favors the doers of good (Muhsineen).

(5:93) There will be no blame on those who believe and do righteous deeds for whatever they might have partaken (in the past) as long as they refrain from things prohibited, and persist in their belief and do righteous deeds, and continue to refrain from whatever is forbidden and submit to divine commandments, and persevere in doing good, fearing Allah. Allah loves those who do good.
