📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Baqarah – Verse 80

"You will see many of them befriending infidels. What an evil thing they had sent forth for themselves that Allah's Wrath [230] fell upon them. And they shall dwell in punishment eternally." (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

✅ The Consequence of Befriending Infidels [230]

From this verse, we learn that friendship with infidels can lead to Allah’s displeasure and Wrath. Such alliances are sometimes totally forbidden and, in other cases, amount to acts of infidelity.

This behavior brings severe consequences, as those who engage in such friendships invite great evil upon themselves and face eternal punishment in the Hereafter.

Ibn-Kathir
