وَإِذَا رَأَوۡاْ ءَايَةٗ يَسۡتَسۡخِرُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa izaa ra aw Aayatany yastaskhiroon )

14. And when they see any sign they ridicule [17] it. (Kanzul Imaan Translation)

📖 Commentary of Surah As-Saffaat – Verse 14

"And when they see any sign, they ridicule [17]."

✅ [17] Mocking the Clear Miracles

This means that instead of accepting the magnificent miracles of the Holy Prophet ﷺ—such as:

  • the splitting of the moon,

  • the returning of the sun after it had set,

  • and even stones and rocks reciting the Kalimah

they respond by making fun of them.

Their ridicule reflects stubborn disbelief, despite witnessing signs that clearly point to the truth.
