Transliteration:( Wa izaa ra aw Aayatany yastaskhiroon )
"And when they see any sign, they ridicule [17]."
This means that instead of accepting the magnificent miracles of the Holy Prophet ﷺ—such as:
the splitting of the moon,
the returning of the sun after it had set,
and even stones and rocks reciting the Kalimah—
they respond by making fun of them.
Their ridicule reflects stubborn disbelief, despite witnessing signs that clearly point to the truth.
