Transliteration:( Iz jaaa'a Rabbahoo bi qalbin saleem )
"When he came to his Lord with a Sound [84] heart."
The phrase "a Sound Heart" (qalb-e-saleem) refers to a heart that is free from shirk (associating partners with Allah), free from doubt, and full of sincerity, trust, and submission to Allah. This quality is highlighted here to show why Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام) was so beloved and chosen by Allah.
The commentary connects Prophet Ibrahim’s purity of heart with his spiritual heritage—he is seen as a continuation of Prophet Nuh’s legacy in belief, worship, and struggle. Although Ibrahim was born over 2,600 years after Nuh, he still walked the same path of monotheism.
Historically, between the time of Nuh and Ibrahim, only two Prophets—Hud and Saleh (عليهم السلام)—were sent. This points to a long gap between prophetic messages, and yet Ibrahim emerged as a beacon of guidance, reviving the original truth that had been fading among his people.

(37:84) When he came to his Lord with a pure heart,[44]
44. “Approached his Lord”: Turned to his Lord sincerely and exclusively; “with a sound heart”: With a heart that was free from all kinds of moral evils and weaknesses of faith, free from every trace of unbelief and shirk, doubt and suspicion, from every feeling of disobedience and rebellion, from every crookedness, confusion and complexity, and free from every evil inclination and desire, and a heart that neither cherished any malice and jealousy and ill-will against anyone, nor had any evil intention.
