Surah As-Saffat Ayat 28 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

28. This conversation will be between the leaders and their subservient infidels and not between the believers and the Prophets and the saints The Prophets and the saints will not be made to stand at the edge of Hell They will pass from it like lighting with their devotees Thus, the commentaries of the present day Wahabis are incorrect

29. This means you people had been compel ling us to commit infidelity using your physical and monetary power Here, the word 'righ side' denotes power and in power both physic and monetary is included (Tafseer Khazalm Irjaan Rohul Mu'uni From this we lear that a compelled infidel is also an infidelmUnder compulsion there is permission to u words of infidelity, not for becoming an infideli

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah As-Saffat verse 28 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Saffat ayat 27 which provides the complete commentary from verse 27 through 37.

(37:28) (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand”[18]

18. The word yameen in Arabic is used for several meanings. It may mean use of the force, or well-wishing, or swearing of an oath. Accordingly, the verse would mean.

(1) You compelled us into following error and deviation.

(2) You deceived us by posing as our well-wishers.

(3) You swore oaths to satisfy us that what you were presenting was the very truth.
