Transliteration:( Innahum kaanooo izaa qeela lahum laaa ilaaha illal laahu yastakbiroon )
"Indeed, when it was said to them: 'None is to be worshipped besides Allah,' they turned away with pride [36]."
This means that they rejected both the Oneness of Allah and the Prophethood.
From this verse, it becomes clear that the entire previous description refers to the infidels, not to the believers or the pious servants of Allah Almighty.
Those who attempt to generalize this punishment to the righteous — such as certain Wahabi interpretations — must reconsider in light of this verse.
