So Let Man Consider From What They Are Created

📖 Tafseer (Commentary) of Ayah 86:5

🔹 This verse challenges those who deny the ⚖️ Day of Judgment to reflect on their own creation.
✅ People raise two doubts about resurrection:

1️⃣ Reassembling scattered body parts – The limbs of countless humans, spread across land and oceans, cannot be gathered without getting mixed up.
2️⃣ Restoring human form – Once decomposed, bringing the body back to life seems impossible.

🔹 This verse refutes these doubts by reminding that humans were originally formed from various sources—🌾 grains, 🌿 vegetation, and 🍖 meat—that transformed into sperm and later shaped into human bodies.
✅ Just as Allah Almighty perfectly assembled the first creation, He will bring it back together for resurrection without error.

🔬 Scientific Explanation

1️⃣ Origin of Sperm (Male Contribution)

  • Sperm is produced in the testes, which are originally formed inside the abdominal cavity during fetal development, near the backbone (loins).
  • Later, they descend into the scrotum, but their blood supply and nerve connections remain linked to the lower back region (loins).
  • The seminal vesicles and prostate gland, which contribute to semen production, are located in the pelvic region.

2️⃣ Female Reproductive Role

  • The ovaries, where the egg (ovum) is produced, are situated near the lower ribcage (breastbone area) in early development and later settle in the pelvic region.
  • The fallopian tubes and uterus also play a role in fertilization and embryo development.

3️⃣ Interpretation of ‘Between the Back and Breastbones’

  • This phrase can refer to the origin of reproductive fluids in both males (loins) and females (near the breastbone in early development, later in the pelvis).
  • The spinal cord and hormonal signals from the brain (hypothalamus-pituitary axis) control sperm and egg production, linking both regions mentioned in the verse.
  • This aligns with modern embryology, which shows that reproductive organs initially form in higher regions of the body before settling into their final positions.

Conclusion

  • The verse poetically describes human reproduction without contradicting modern scientific findings.
  • The formation, function, and regulation of reproductive fluids involve both the lower back (loins) and upper body (ribcage/breastbone region) at different stages of development.
  • This confirms that the Qur'anic description is accurate within the framework of modern biology.

Ala-Maududi

(86:7) emanating from between the loins and the ribs.[3]

3. “A fluid gushing forth” means ejaculation of semen (maain) carrying the sperm (nutfa), one of the minute, usually actively motile gametes-a mature male reproductive cell in semen, which serves to fertilize the female ovum. Sperms are produced by testes. Each testes has 800 small tubules and each tube about 2 feet long, semeniferous tubules which produce sperms about 200-300 million every day. There are 2 valves around urethra. Both are tightly closed to hold and store semen before its expulsion. The inner valve stays tightly closed to prevent backward ejaculation into the urinary bladder and the outer valve intermittently contracts and relaxes 3-7 times along with surrounding muscles contraction to generate force for propelling the semen out (dafiqin).
