It emphasizes the importance of fulfilling promises and contracts and outlines the responsibilities of the Muslim community.

Lessons Learned from Surah Al-Ma'idah

  1. Honor Your Contracts and Promises: Upholding agreements is essential in Islam.
  2. Islam is the Complete Religion: The religion provides comprehensive guidance for life.
  3. Clear Communication: When instructing others to do something challenging, provide explanations to facilitate understanding.
  4. Awareness of Deception: Remain vigilant, as many deceptions may come from certain groups.
  5. The Trials of Prophethood: Prophets, like Musa (Moses), faced significant challenges in guiding their communities, yet they remained patient and committed.
  6. Consequences for Rebels: Severe punishment is prescribed for those who defy divine guidance.
  7. Divine Guidance: Only Allah can guide, and even prophets cannot assist those whom Allah wishes to lead astray. It is crucial to seek Allah's guidance.
  8. Disbelievers on Judgment Day: On the Day of Judgment, disbelievers will futilely attempt to escape the punishment of Hell.
  9. Resistance to Divine Guidance: Some individuals may become more entrenched in their disbelief despite receiving clear revelations.
  10. Opportunity for Repentance: Despite transgressions, Allah remains willing to forgive those who sincerely repent.
  11. Fulfill Your Oaths: Keeping oaths is an important aspect of faith.
  12. Unity Among Muslims: Shayṭān (Satan) seeks to create discord among Muslims, particularly through sins like intoxicants and gambling, leading to neglect of Allah’s remembrance.
  13. Balance of Forgiveness and Justice: Allah is both Forgiving and Merciful, but also severe in punishment for those who persist in wrongdoing.

1. O believers! Fulfill your promises [1]. Lawful for you are the four-legged animals, except those which will be recited to you [2]—and do not permit hunting while you are in the state of Ihram [3]. Indeed, Allah commands whatever He wills.

2. O you who believe! Do not violate the symbols of Allah [4], nor (the sanctity of) the sacred months [5], nor the sacrificial animals, nor those marked with garlands [6], nor those going to the Sacred House, seeking the bounty and pleasure of their Lord [7]. And when you take off the pilgrim's garb, then you may hunt [8]. And let not the enmity of those who prevented you from the Sacred Mosque incite you to commit transgression [9]. And help one another in righteousness and piety, but do not help one another in sin and transgression [10]. And fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is severe in punishment [11].

3. You are forbidden (to eat) the dead [12], and blood, and the flesh of swine [13], and that on which any name other than Allah has been invoked [14] at the time of slaughtering, and that which dies by strangulation, and that which is beaten to death [15], and that killed by falling, and that which is gored, and that which has been partly eaten by a wild animal—except what you (are able to) slaughter properly [16]—and that which is slaughtered at altars [17], and that on which you divide by drawing lots with arrows [18]. All that is an act of sin. Today, the disbelievers have despaired of (harming) your religion [19], so do not fear them, but fear Me. Today, I have perfected your religion for you [20], completed My favor upon you [21], and have chosen Islam as your religion [22]. But whoever is forced by extreme hunger, without intending to sin [23], then indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful [24].

4. Declare: "Good and pure things [26] have been made lawful to you, and such hunting animals that you have trained [27] for hunting, teaching them of what Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you [28], and pronounce the name of Allah over it [29], and fear Allah." Indeed, Allah is swift in taking account [30].

And chaste believing women, and chaste women from among those who were given the Book before you, when you give them their dowries [33], while bringing them in bondage (through marriage) [34], not for lust and neither making a lover (secretly) [35]. And whoever becomes an infidel after being a Muslim, his entire work is destroyed [36], and he is a loser in the Hereafter.
