Lessons Learned from  Surah al-ma’idah

  1. Honour your contracts and promises.  
  2. Islām is the perfect and complete religion.  
  3. Sometimes, when instructing people to do something that they may find difficult, explain yourself to them.  
  4. You will always continue to hear of various deceptions from the majority of Jews.  
  5. MÅ«sā عليه السلام had a very difficult task in handling the BanÅ« Isrā’Ä«l; one that he accomplished successfully. The Prophet ï·º  acknowledged this also when he said, “May Allāh have mercy on MÅ«sā! Indeed he was caused much more difficulty than this, but he remained patient.” (Al-BukhārÄ«)  
  6. The rebels are to be administered severe punishment for their crimes.  
  7. Whoever Allāh wishes to lead astray, even a Prophet cannot help them in any way. Therefore, we should always ask Allāh for guidance and steadfastness. 
  8. The disbelievers on the Day of Judgment will try their utmost to free themselves from the punishment of Jahannam, all in vain.[4]  
  9. Some people are so evil at heart, that clear revelation from Allāh drives them further in their mischief and disbelief, instead of bringing them closer.
  10. Despite all the blasphemy of the Jews, Allāh is still willing to forgive them if they turn to Him in sincere repentance.  
  11. Fulfil your oaths.  
  12. Shayṭān tries creating disunity and enmity between Muslims through sins: especially intoxicants and gambling, together with causing neglect in remembering Allāh.  
  13. Despite being Forgiving and Merciful, Allāh is also severe in punishment. 

Recitation benefits of surah al-ma’idah

  1. Recite Ayah No.54 of Surat Al Maidah on sweet for love between family.
  2. Daily recitation of Surat Maidah is to seek Forgiveness from ALLAH.
  3. Recite Ayah 114 of Surah Al Maidah, 11 times every hour. Recite it with Durood Sharif 11 times in the beginning and in the end. Then blow toward the sky, praying in mind for Rizq. If you do this amal with full concentration regularly, you will be showered with Rizq.
  4. Recites Surah Maidah on every Thursday, you would remain safe from wrong doing and would not associate any partner with Allah.
  5. Whoever recites this surat Maidah Allah adds ten good deeds and conceals ten evil deeds and his position near Allah goes up ten times more than what he deserves.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَوۡفُواْ بِٱلۡعُقُودِۚ أُحِلَّتۡ لَكُم بَهِيمَةُ ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ إِلَّا مَا يُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡكُمۡ غَيۡرَ مُحِلِّي ٱلصَّيۡدِ وَأَنتُمۡ حُرُمٌۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحۡكُمُ مَا يُرِيدُ
Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo awfoo bil'uqood; uhillat lakum baheematul an'aami illaa maa yutlaa 'alaikum ghaira muhillis saidi wa antum hurum; innal laaha yahkumu maa yureed )

1. O you who believe! Fulfill your promises(1). Lawful for you are animals that are mute, except such ones, which shall be narrated to you (2 )further. But do not consider hunting to be lawful when you are in the pilgrim's garb (Ihraam) (3). Undoubtedly, Allah commands what He wills.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تُحِلُّواْ شَعَـٰٓئِرَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا ٱلشَّهۡرَ ٱلۡحَرَامَ وَلَا ٱلۡهَدۡيَ وَلَا ٱلۡقَلَـٰٓئِدَ وَلَآ ءَآمِّينَ ٱلۡبَيۡتَ ٱلۡحَرَامَ يَبۡتَغُونَ فَضۡلٗا مِّن رَّبِّهِمۡ وَرِضۡوَٰنٗاۚ وَإِذَا حَلَلۡتُمۡ فَٱصۡطَادُواْۚ وَلَا يَجۡرِمَنَّكُمۡ شَنَـَٔانُ قَوۡمٍ أَن صَدُّوكُمۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ أَن تَعۡتَدُواْۘ وَتَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى ٱلۡبِرِّ وَٱلتَّقۡوَىٰۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡعُدۡوَٰنِۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ
Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tuhilloo sha'aaa 'iral laahi wa lash Shahral Haraama wa lal hadya wa lal qalaaa'ida wa laa aaammeenal Baital Haraama yabtaghoona fadlam mir Rabbihim wa ridwaanaa; wa izaa halaltum fastaadoo; wa laa yajrimannakum shana aanu qawmin an saddookum 'anil Masjidil-Haraami an ta'tadoo; wa ta'aawanoo 'alalbirri wattaqwaa; wa laa ta'aawanoo 'alal ismi wal'udwaan; wattaqul laah; innal laaha shadeedul 'iqaab )

2. O you who believe! Do not violate the symbols of Allah (4), and neither (the sanctity of) the sacred months (5), and neither the sacrificial animals sent to the Sacred House (Baitul Haram) and not those bearing signs in their necks (6), and neither the property and honor of those who repair to the Sacred House (7), seeking the bounty and pleasure of their Lord. And when you take off the pilgrim's garb then you may hunt (8). And let not the enmity of such people who prevent you to enter the Sacred Mosque incite (9) you to commit any excesses. And help each other in righteousness and piety, and help not one another in sin and transgression (10) and remain fearing Allah, Surely, the punishment of Allah is severe (11).

حُرِّمَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةُ وَٱلدَّمُ وَلَحۡمُ ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ وَٱلۡمُنۡخَنِقَةُ وَٱلۡمَوۡقُوذَةُ وَٱلۡمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَآ أَكَلَ ٱلسَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيۡتُمۡ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى ٱلنُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسۡتَقۡسِمُواْ بِٱلۡأَزۡلَٰمِۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ فِسۡقٌۗ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ يَئِسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن دِينِكُمۡ فَلَا تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ وَٱخۡشَوۡنِۚ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡإِسۡلَٰمَ دِينٗاۚ فَمَنِ ٱضۡطُرَّ فِي مَخۡمَصَةٍ غَيۡرَ مُتَجَانِفٖ لِّإِثۡمٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ
Transliteration:( Hurrimat 'alaikumul maitatu waddamu wa lahmul khinzeeri wa maaa uhilla lighiril laahi bihee walmun khani qatu wal mawqoozatu wal mutarad diyatu wanna teehatu wa maaa akalas sabu'u illaa maa zakkaitum wa maa zubiha 'alan nusubi wa an tastaqsimoo bil azlaam; zaalikum fisq; alyawma ya'isal lazeena kafaroo min deenikum falaa takhshawhum wakh shawn; alyawma akmaltu lakum deenakum wa atmamtu 'alaikum ni'matee wa radeetu lakumul Islaama deenaa; famanidturra fee makhmasatin ghaira mutajaanifil li ismin fa innallaaha Ghafoorur Raheem )

3. You are forbidden (to eat) the dead (12) and blood and the flesh of the swine (13), and that on which any name has been invoked other than Allah (14) at the time of slaughtering, and that which dies by strangulation, and that which is beaten to death by anything unsharpened (15), and that killed by falling, and that which is gored, and that which has been eaten by any wild animal except those which you have properly slaughtered, and (16) that which has been slaughtered at any altar (17) and that on which you divide lottery drawn by arrows (18). All that is an act of sin. Today, the infidels are dejected of your religion (19), so fear them not, but fear Me alone. This day I have perfected your religion (20) for you and completed My favour upon you (21) and have chosen Islam as the religion for you (22). But whosoever is forced by extreme hunger without indulging in sin (23), then surely, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful (24).

يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَآ أُحِلَّ لَهُمۡۖ قُلۡ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ وَمَا عَلَّمۡتُم مِّنَ ٱلۡجَوَارِحِ مُكَلِّبِينَ تُعَلِّمُونَهُنَّ مِمَّا عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱللَّهُۖ فَكُلُواْ مِمَّآ أَمۡسَكۡنَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱسۡمَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡهِۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلۡحِسَابِ
Transliteration:( Yas'aloonaka maazaaa uhilla lahum; qul uhilla lakumuttaiyibaatu wa maa'allamtum minal jawaarihi mukallibeena tu'allimoonahunnamimmaa 'allamakumul laahu fakuloo mimmaaa amsakna 'alaikum wazkurus mal laahi 'alaih; wattaqul laah; innal laaha saree'ul hisaab )

4. They ask you (O Beloved Prophet) what has been made lawful to them? (25), Please declare: "Good and pure things (26), have been made lawful to you, and such hunting animals you have trained (27), for hunting, teaching them of what Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you after hunting (28), and pronounce the name of Allah over it (29), and fear Allah". Indeed, Allah is swift in taking account (30),

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُۖ وَطَعَامُ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ حِلّٞ لَّكُمۡ وَطَعَامُكُمۡ حِلّٞ لَّهُمۡۖ وَٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ وَٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتُ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ إِذَآ ءَاتَيۡتُمُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ مُحۡصِنِينَ غَيۡرَ مُسَٰفِحِينَ وَلَا مُتَّخِذِيٓ أَخۡدَانٖۗ وَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بِٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ فَقَدۡ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُۥ وَهُوَ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ
Transliteration:( Alyawma uhilla lakumut taiyibaatu wa ta'aamul lazeena ootul Kitaaba hillul lakum wa ta'aamukum hillul lahum wal muhsanaatu minal mu'minaati walmuhsanaatu minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba min qablikum izaaa aataitumoohunna ujoorahunna muhsineena ghaira musaafiheena wa laa muttakhizeee akhdaan; wa mai yakfur bil eemaani faqad habita 'amaluhoo wa huwa fil Aaakhirati minal khaasireen (section 1) )

5. This day all the good and pure things are made lawful (31), for you and the food of the People of th Book is lawful (32), for you, and you food is lawful for them. And chaste believing women, and chaste women from among those who were given the Book before you, when you give them their dowries (33), while bringing them in bondage (through marriage) (34), nor for lust and neither making a lover (secretly) (35). And whosoever becomes an infidel after being a Muslim, his entire work is destroyed (36), and he is a loser in the Hereafter.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا قُمۡتُمۡ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ فَٱغۡسِلُواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ وَأَيۡدِيَكُمۡ إِلَى ٱلۡمَرَافِقِ وَٱمۡسَحُواْ بِرُءُوسِكُمۡ وَأَرۡجُلَكُمۡ إِلَى ٱلۡكَعۡبَيۡنِۚ وَإِن كُنتُمۡ جُنُبٗا فَٱطَّهَّرُواْۚ وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرۡضَىٰٓ أَوۡ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ أَوۡ جَآءَ أَحَدٞ مِّنكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡغَآئِطِ أَوۡ لَٰمَسۡتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَلَمۡ تَجِدُواْ مَآءٗ فَتَيَمَّمُواْ صَعِيدٗا طَيِّبٗا فَٱمۡسَحُواْ بِوُجُوهِكُمۡ وَأَيۡدِيكُم مِّنۡهُۚ مَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيَجۡعَلَ عَلَيۡكُم مِّنۡ حَرَجٖ وَلَٰكِن يُرِيدُ لِيُطَهِّرَكُمۡ وَلِيُتِمَّ نِعۡمَتَهُۥ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ
Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo izaa qumtum ilas Salaati faghsiloo wujoohakum wa Aidiyakum ilal maraafiqi wamsahoo biru'oosikum wa arjulakum ilal ka'bayn; wa in kuntum junuban fattahharoo; wain kuntum mardaaa aw'alaa safarin aw jaaa'a ahadum minkum minal ghaaa'iti aw laamastumunnisaaa'a falam tajidoo maaa'an fatayammamoo sa'eedan taiyiban famsahoo biwujoohikum wa aideekum minh; ma yureedul laahu liyaj'ala 'alaikum min harajinw walaakiny yureedu liyutahhirakum wa liyutimma ni'matahoo 'alaikum la'allakum tashkuroon )

6. O you who believe! When you stand up for Prayer (Salaah) (37) then wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows and pass your wet hands over your heads and wash your feet up to the ankles (38). And if you need the obligatory bath (for Janabah) then purify yourselves well (39). And if you are ill or you are on a journey, or any one of you comes from a place of relieving yourself (40), or you have intercourse with women and in these conditions you do not get water (41), then take clean earth (42) and wipe therewith your faces and your hands (for Tayammum). Allah desires not that He should place you in any difficulty, but He desires to purify you and to complete His favour upon you, so that you may be grateful.

وَٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَمِيثَٰقَهُ ٱلَّذِي وَاثَقَكُم بِهِۦٓ إِذۡ قُلۡتُمۡ سَمِعۡنَا وَأَطَعۡنَاۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
Transliteration:( Wazkuroo ni'matal laahi 'alaikum wa meesaaqahul lazee waasaqakum biheee iz qultum sami'naa wa ata'naa wattaqul laah; innal laaha 'aleemum bizaatis sudoor )

7. And remember Allah's favour (43) upon you and the covenant which He made with you, when you said: "We heard and obeyed" (44) and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah knows the thoughts in your hearts (45).

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُونُواْ قَوَّـٰمِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَآءَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖ وَلَا يَجۡرِمَنَّكُمۡ شَنَـَٔانُ قَوۡمٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعۡدِلُواْۚ ٱعۡدِلُواْ هُوَ أَقۡرَبُ لِلتَّقۡوَىٰۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ
Transliteration:( Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamaanoo koonoo qawwaa meena lillaahi shuhadaaa'a bilqist, wa laa yajrimannakum shana aanu qawmin 'alaaa allaa ta'diloo; i'diloo; huwa aqrabu littaqwaa wattaqul laah; innal laaha khabeerum bimaa ta'maloon )

8.0 you who believe! Be steadfast in the cause of Allah, bearing witness (46). with justice; and let not the hatred of people prevent you from being just. Be just, that is nearer to piety (47), and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is acquainted with what you do.

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ وَأَجۡرٌ عَظِيمٞ
Transliteration:( Wa'adal laahul lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lahum maghfiratunw wa ajrun 'azeem )

9.Allah has promised to the believers and those who do righteous deeds (48), that for them is forgiveness and great reward (49).

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
Transliteration:( Wallazeena kafaroo wa kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaaa ulaaa'ika Ashaabul Jaheem )

10. And those who committed infidelity and belied Our sighs, they are the people of Hell (50).
