Al-Ahqaf (Arabic: الأحقاف, al-aḥqāf; meaning: "the sand dunes" or "the winding sand tracts") is the 46th chapter (surah) of the Qur'an with 35 verses (ayat).

The summary/theme of the Surah Al-Ahqaf:

 It is a warning to those who deny the divine truth. It teaches arrogance and sinfulness is the way to destruction. People will stand before Allah on their knees.

Lesson learned from surah al-ahqaf:

  1. Allāh made subservient for man most things on earth.  
  2. Whoever does good, does so for his/her own benefit; and whoever does bad, will him/herself stand to suffer from it.  
  3. If you become a slave to your desires, you will deviate despite knowing the truth, and become blind and deaf to it.  
  4. On the Day of Qiyāmah, each nation will be seen on their knees, before their book of deeds is given to them.

مَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَمَّآ أُنذِرُواْ مُعۡرِضُونَ
 Transliteration:( Maa khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaaa illaa bilhaqqi wa ajalim musammaa; wallazeena kafaroo 'ammaaa unziroo mu'ridoon )

3.We have not created the heavens and the earth and what is in between them except with truth (5) and for an appointed (6) term. But the infidels turn(7) away from that they were warned of.

قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكٞ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِۖ ٱئۡتُونِي بِكِتَٰبٖ مِّن قَبۡلِ هَٰذَآ أَوۡ أَثَٰرَةٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
 Transliteration:( Qul ara'aytum maa tad'oona min doonil laahi aroonee maazaa khalaqoo minal ardi am lahum shirkun fis samaawaati eetoonee bi kitaabim min qabli haazaaa aw asaaratim min 'ilmin in kuntum saadiqeen )

4. Please declare: "Do you see whom you worship besides Allah? Show me what particle of the earth they have created(8), or have they any share in the creation of the heavens? Bring me a book(9) " before this or anything of knowledge (10), if you are truthful".

 Transliteration:( Wa man adallu mimmany yad'oo min doonil laahi mallaa yastajeebu lahooo ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati wa hum'an du'aaa'ihim ghaafiloon )

5. And who is more on the wrong way than the one who worships !! besides Allah(11), such ones who may not hear (12) his prayer till the Day of Resurrection, and even they are unaware (13) of such worship to them?

6. And when mankind shall be gathered, they shall be enemies (14) to them (idols) and will deny (15) their worship.

7. And when Our clear Verses (16)are recited to them the infidels say about the truth, when it reaches them:"This is clear magic (17)".

 Transliteration:( Am yaqooloonaf taraahu qul inif taraituhoo falaa tamlikoona lee minal laahi shai'an Huwa a'lamu bimaa tufeedoona feehi kafaa bihee shaheedam bainee wa bainakum wa Huwal Ghafoorur Raheem )

8. Or do they say: "He has fabricated it (18). Please declare: "If I have fabricated it, you have no power to help (19) me against Allah. He knows well what you are stressing (20) upon. And He suffices to be a witness (21) between you, and me and He is the Most Forgiving, the Most merciful (22)"

 Transliteration:( Qul maa kuntu bid'am minal Rusuli wa maaa adreee ma yuf'alu bee wa laa bikum in attabi'u illaa maa yoohaaa ilaiya wa maaa ana illaa nazeerum mubeen )

9.Please declare: "I am not new (23) among the Messengers, and I do not know (24) what shall be done with me and with you. I only follow what is revealed (25) to me. And I am not but a clear Warner (26)".

 Transliteration:( Qul ara'aytum in kaana min 'indil laahi wa kafartum bihee wa shahida shaahidum mim Banee Israaa'eela 'alaa mislihee fa aamana wastak bartum innal laaha laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen (section 1) )

10. Please declare: "Do you not see that it (Quran) (27) is from Allah and you disbelieve it, while the witness from the children of Israel testifies (28) its similarity (to previous scriptures) and believes, while you became arrogant? Undoubtedly, Allah does not guide the wrong doer (29).
