The summary/theme of the surah Al-Fajr

Several disbelieving peoples are described in the sura: the Ancient Egyptians, the people of Iram of the Pillars, and Mada'in Saleh. The verse condemns those who love wealth and look down on the poor and orphans with disdain. The final verse promises Paradise to righteous people – "Enter My Paradise!".

Lessons learned from this surah Al-Fajr

  1. This Surah is one of the Meccan Surahs which contains mainly the following three themes:
  2. The first subject is the 'Resurrection' and the contrast between the destinies of the Good and the Evil in the 'Hereafter'.
  3. The second subject is 'Monotheism' with reference to the creation of the sky, the earth, and the mountains. The man should consider these wonderful matters as admonishments.
  4. The third subject is ‘Prophecy' and some of the duties that the Holy Prophet (S) was required to perform. On the whole, the Surah strengthens the idea for the basis of religion and faith, as well as all Meccan Surahs do.

Surah Fajr Benefits​

  1. Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad, said that the one who recites Surah Fajr Allah (S.w.T.) will forgive his sins amounting to ten times the number of people who recite this Surah. On the Day of Reckoning, he will have a shining light.
  2. Our Beloved Imam Jaffar Sadiq (Radi Allahu Tala Anhu) urged believers to recite this Surah Fajr in their prayers as it is the Surah of Our Beloved Imam Hussain (Radi Allahu Tala Anhu) and the one who recites it often will be in the company of Imam Husayn (a.s.) on the Day of Judgement.
  3. If Surah Fajr benefits is written as a talisman and then tied to one’s back, after which he goes into his wife, then Allah (S.w.T.) will give him a child who will be a means of pride and blessings for him.
  4. Recite Surah Fajr for Noor on Qiyamah/ Day of Judgement.
