Known as The Immunity, Surah At-Tawba is the 9th (chapter) of The Glorious Quran. It has 129 ayat (verses) and was revealed in Medina after the Prophet migrated to Medina. This surah consists of two juz/para. Verses 1 through 92 are in the 10th juz and verses 93 to 129 are in the 11th juz.
This sûrah follows on from the previous one, as it begins by calling an end to the numerous peace treaties broken by the pagans. The believers are encouraged to join the Prophet ( ï·º ) in marching to Tabûk for battle during the summer of 9 A.H./631 C.E., and hypocrites – who make spurious excuses – are uncovered and refuted. Muslims are brought back to remembrance of AllÄh's protection at the Battle of Ḥunain, when their defeat changed into a successful victory, in addition to how He shielded His Messenger ( ï·º ) during his journey to Medina. Through this sûrah, AllÄh's tolerance for repentance is continually relayed; hence its title.
