The summary/theme of the surah al-‘ankabÅ«t: 

Muslims who are sincere are strengthened by this Surah, and those who are weak in their faith are admonished. During those days, some young men faced questions regarding Islam, and their parents encouraged them to return to their ancestral religion in place of Islam. This Surah also addresses these questions.

Lesson learned from  surah al-‘ankabÅ«t: 

  1. Do we think that we will be left alone without being tested on our aªm'n? Being tested is inevitable.  
  2. Allah's gives parables and examples in the Quran that only the knowledgeable understand.  
  3. á¹¢al'h performed properly will stop you from committing sins.  
  4. Every soul shall taste death  
  5. The life of the Hereafter is one worth living and anticipating.  
  6. Whoever strives in the way of Allah's, Allah's will guide him/her.

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

 

الٓمٓ

Transliteration:( Alif-Laaam-Meeem )
1. Alif-Lam-Mim

أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتۡرَكُوٓاْ أَن يَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَنُونَ

Transliteration:( Ahasiban naasu any yutrakooo any yaqoolooo aamannaa wa hum la yuftanoon )
2. Do the people think that they will be left alone because they say, "We believe," [1] and they will not be tested? [2]

وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۖ فَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُواْ وَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّ ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ

Transliteration:( Wa laqad fatannal lazeena min qablihim fala ya'lamannal laahul lazeena sadaqoo wa la ya'lamannal kaazibeen )
3. And We certainly tested those before them; thus, Allah will surely distinguish those who are truthful [4] from those who are liars. [5]

أَمۡ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَسۡبِقُونَاۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُونَ

Transliteration:( Am hasibal lazeena ya'maloonas sayyiaati any yasbiqoonaa; saaa'a maa yahkumoon )
4. Do those who commit evil deeds think they will escape Us? [6] Evil is what they judge. [7]

مَن كَانَ يَرۡجُواْ لِقَآءَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ لَأٓتٖۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

Transliteration:( Man kaana yarjoo liqaaa 'allaahi fa inna ajalal laahi la'aat; wa Huwass Sameeul 'Aleem )
5. Whoever hopes to meet Allah, [8] let him know that the term set by Allah is coming [9]. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

وَمَن جَٰهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَٰهِدُ لِنَفۡسِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Transliteration:( Wa man jaahada fainnamaa yujaahidu linafsih; innal laaha laghaniyyun 'anil 'aalameen )
6. And whoever strives, [10] strives only for himself. Indeed, Allah is Self-Sufficient and free of need from the worlds.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنۡهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمۡ وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلَّذِي كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ

Transliteration:( Wallazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lanukaf firanna 'anhum saiyiaatihim wa lanajziyannahum ahsanal lazee kaanoo ya'maloon )
7.And those who have believed and done righteous deeds, We will certainly remove their misdeeds from them [11], and reward them according to the best of what they used to do [12].

وَوَصَّيۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ حُسۡنٗاۖ وَإِن جَٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشۡرِكَ بِي مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٞ فَلَا تُطِعۡهُمَآۚ إِلَيَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ

Transliteration:( Wa wassainal insaana biwaalidaihi husnanw wa in jaahadaaka litushrika bee maa laisa laka bihee 'ilmun falaa tuti'humaa; ilaiya marji'ukum fa unabbi'ukum bimaa kuntum ta'maloon )
8. We have enjoined upon man to be good to his parents [13]. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge [14], then do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do [15].

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَنُدۡخِلَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

Transliteration:( Wallazeena aamanoo wa'amilus saalihaati lanudkhilan nahum fis saaliheen )
9. And those who have believed and done righteous deeds [18], We will surely admit them among the righteous [19].

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِيَ فِي ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتۡنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصۡرٞ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمۡۚ أَوَلَيۡسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعۡلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

Transliteration:( Wa minan naasi many yaqoolu aamannaa billaahi faizaaa ooziya fil laahi ja'ala fitnatan naasi ka'azaabil laahi wa la'in jaaa'a nasrum mir Rabbika la yaqoolunna innaa kunnaa ma'akum; awa laisal laahu bi a'lama bimaa fee sudooril 'aalameen )
10. And among the people are those who say, "We have believed in Allah," but when they are harmed for Allah's sake, they consider the people's persecution as if it were Allah's punishment [19]. And if victory comes from your Lord [20], they will surely say, "Indeed, we were with you" [21]. Does Allah not know best what is in the hearts of all the worlds? [22]
