Surah Al-Muminun Ayat 28 Tafsir (Commentry)

  • Tafseer-e-Naeemi (Ahmad Yaar Khan)
  • Ibn Kathir
  • Ala-Madudi

45. This tells us that the infidels are worse than the dogs and cats because permission had been granted for these animals to go on board. the Ark, while the same was denied for the infidels.

 46. This tells us that the punishment of infidels, the destruction of the infidels is a blessing from Allah Almighty for the believers, for which they should be grateful.
It is for this reason that the Holy Prophet  صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم had offered Sajdah of thanks-giving at the death of Abu Jahl and observed fast on the Day of Ashoorah i.e. 10th Muharram because on this day the Pharoah was drowned.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah Al-Muminun verse 27 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
Please refer to Surah Muminun ayat 26 which provides the complete commentary from verse 26 through 30.

(23:28) And then when you and those accompanying you are firmly seated in the Ark, say: “Thanks be to Allah Who has delivered us from the wrong-doing people.”[30]

30. The fact that Allah should be praised and thanked for the annihilation of those people, is a clear proof that they were the most wicked and villainous people in the world.
