Transliteration:( Talfahu wujoohahumun Naaru wa hum feehaa kaalihoon )
"The flame of the fire shall smite their faces and they shall glower therein [144]."
This verse refers specifically to the punishment of disbelievers—the flames will directly hit their faces, a symbol of complete disgrace and pain.
They will grimace and glower in agony, reflecting both inner rage and outer suffering.
🔹 However, according to authentic Hadith, the faces and sujood (prostration) parts of believers will not be harmed by Hellfire, showing Allah’s special protection for those who once bowed before Him.

97. The word kalih means a face whose skin has been removed so as to expose the jaws. When somebody asked Abdullah bin Masud the meaning of kalih, he said: Haven’t you seen the scorched head of a slaughtered animal?
