📖 Commentary of Surah Al-Mu’minoon – Verse 67

"You boast about serving the sacred place, telling absurd stories at night, thereby leaving the truth behind [100]."

✅ [100] Arrogance and Distraction from Truth

This verse highlights the hypocrisy and misplaced pride of the disbelievers. They would boast about their service to the Sacred Mosque (Kaʿbah), considering themselves righteous simply due to their custodianship or affiliation with a holy place—while their hearts remained heedless.

At night, instead of reflection or worship, they would indulge in vain and absurd talks, telling idle stories that distracted themselves and others from divine truth.

This behaviour led them to abandon the path of guidance, despite being in a setting closely connected to it. Their outward honour did not match their inward reality, which was devoid of submission and sincerity.
