Transliteration:( Wa qur Rabbi a'oozu bika min hamazaatish Shayaateen )
"And say [133] you, 'O my Lord, I seek refuge in You from the evil suggestions of Satan'." (Kanzul Imaan Translation)
In this verse, the Prophet ﷺ is instructed to seek protection from the evil whispers and incitements of Satan—those that aim to divert a person from truth, plant doubts, provoke arrogance, or lead to sin.
The instruction "Say" carries a deeper mystical significance:
The du‘ā (prayer) is taught by Allah Himself, highlighting that true protection is only in what He approves.
The blessed tongue of the Prophet ﷺ gives this prayer its unique effectiveness—just as a bullet hits its target when fired through the barrel of a rifle.
This conveys that:
Accepted supplication depends on both divine guidance and a pure medium,
And the best prayers are those taught by Allah and uttered by the Prophet ﷺ, whose purity guarantees their efficacy.
This prayer is not only for the Prophet ﷺ but also serves as a model for the Ummah—a reminder that Shayṭān’s influence is real, and we must regularly seek Allah’s protection.
